• who: Print information about users who are currently logged in.

nv@debian:~$ who    ## list logged in usernames
nv   :0           2015-09-19 13:31 (:0)
nv   pts/0        2015-09-19 13:32 (:0)
nv   pts/1        2015-09-19 16:42 (:0)

• whoami: Print effective username of the user who ran whoami.

nv@debian:~$ whoami 
nv                 ##### print my username (nv)
